Merrill Friesen

Mr. Friesen’s Deep Hope is that in a world of despair and brokenness – including students in his classroom, that he would be able to reveal a Jesus who passionately loves and cares for each student.

Bachelor of Education (Geography Major, Phys Ed. Minor): U of W

Merrill Friesen teaches High School Social Studies, Humanities, Business, Athletic Director and is the Post-Secondary Academic Guidance Counsellor

Mr. Friesen has been at Westpark since 2004 and remains because of the quality staff who share a heart and passion for their students, and its small size which allows him to get to know each of his students. He enjoys spending time with students, not only teaching the curriculum, but also having a part in molding them into adults. Merrill desires that his classroom is a safe place for all students where an environment of learning can take place and where learning can also be fun!

Mr. Friesen’s Deep Hope is that in a world of despair and brokenness – including students in his classroom, that he would be able to reveal a Jesus who passionately loves and cares for each student. On top of that, that He has a plan to restore a broken world and bring healing to each student. Merrill believes that together we can discover the plan that Jesus has for each of our lives.

Merrill enjoys reading, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and two children, who both graduated from, and whom have benefited immensely from their experience at Westpark School.
