MUSIC PROGRAMS

Despite our school’s small size, Westpark’s Senior Years students have the unique opportunity to participate in three different programs without scheduling conflicts.

Performance is a central component of all three, with students playing for family and friends at our annual Christmas and Spring concerts, as well at various band festivals and competitions.

CONCERT BAND

A classical instrument band which allows students to further develop their skills on a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument with performances as a large ensemble. Additional opportunities for growth include nominations for Central Region Honour Band and also auditions for the Provincial Honour Band.

PERCUSSSION ENSEMBLE

Students use a variety of percussion instruments such as snare drum, bass drum, toms, cymbals, mallets and timpani to perform together.

WORSHIP BAND

Students can develop their skills on a contemporary worship band instrument such as the drums, bass guitar, keyboard, electric guitar or acoustic guitar. Others may choose to use their voice as they learn how to lead others to a place of true worship of God in a small ensemble setting.
