It is Talia’s Deep Hope that her students leave Grade 6 having tangibly seen how God has been good and faithful in their lives that year through bible journaling, answered prayer and times of worship.

Talia Vellacott is the Grade 6 Teacher

Talia joined us in 2020 and she is an incredible addition to the Westpark teaching roster, with her passion for teaching evident in all that she does. Talia is thankful for the relationships that she can build with her students, and for their stories, jokes and insights which brighten her days. She loves the teaching aspect of her job but also recognizes that the younger generation is teaching her as well!

Mrs. Vellacott strives to create a classroom community in which each student feels accepted and encouraged to be who God created them to be. She hopes to create a fair classroom where everyone is pushed to do their best, regardless of what their best looks like, and she wants her students to be exposed to academic and curriculum-based projects, hands-on activities, and assignments that challenge and push them out of their comfort zone. It is also her deep hope that students leave Grade 6 having tangibly seen how God has been good and faithful in their lives that year through bible journaling, answered prayer and times of worship.

Talia believes that Westpark is an institution that prioritizes showing students who they are created to be in Christ. Students of all backgrounds are welcomed into the community and are pushed to be their best possible selves. Westpark pushes students to give back to their community and use their gifts that God has given them in tangible ways. Westpark also operates with high academic standards and practices, which challenges both students and teachers to do their best!

Mrs. Vellacott and her husband Sam share two cats, and they keep busy by volunteering with PAC’s youth group and attending their PAC house church. Talia enjoys coaching basketball, reading, hiking, skating and watching movies.
