Joshua Bater teaches Grades 6-12 Concert Band and Grades 9-12 Percussion Ensemble and Worship Band.

Mr. Bater has been leading the music programs for Westpark’s Middle and Senior Years students since 2019. Josh’s favorite part about teaching is learning alongside young people and it’s their fresh sense of discovery that keeps him coming back year after year! Mr. Bater strives to make his classroom a safe environment for students to be themselves and discover their true identity as Children of God.

Mr. Bater’s Deep Hope is that his students will realize and embrace the role they play in building a community in God’s kingdom through kindness, respect and hard work. His dad always encouraged him to be himself, and this powerful message has inspired Josh to create an environment where students are not afraid to let their light shine! Outside of the classroom, Mr. Bater loves to spend time with his family and working on his house. His hobbies include curling, golf, and a slow introduction to woodworking.
